Now available to register at Gandi: .ευ (.eu in Greek)
At the end of 2019, the registry EURid added a third top-level domain (TLD) to its portfolio. Following the Latin alphabet version .eu, the Cyrillic alphabet’s .ею, it’s now time for .ευ: the Greek alphabet version of .eu.
Implementing .ευ at Gandi
With a deep catalog of over 750 top-level domains (TLDs) and already accredited for registering .eu domains, adding .ευ to our catalog as well seemed natural.
The Greek “.eu” lets users take full advantage of internationalized domain names. Greek domain names can now be registered in a fully Greek TLD.
Specific conditions
Rules related to registering .eu domain names, most notably when it comes to transfers, DNSSEC, and also eligibility requirements, also apply to .ευ domain names too.
What you need to know:
You can only register .ευ domain names with Greek characters and .eu domain names in Latin characters.
The next step in .eu history
After introducing the Cyrillic version in 2016, the implementation of the Greek alphabet in 2019 is the next step in EURid’s push to improve multilingual support.
