Launching .kids domain extension August 11, 2022
DotKids Foundation Ltd. has announced the launch of a new domain extension (TLD)—.kids will arrive August 11, 2022.
From August 11 (16:00 UTC) through September 14 (15:59 UTC), registration of .kids domains will be reserved for owners of trademarks registered with the TMCH.
What is .kids?
Using a .kids domain name instantly tells your audience and customers that your website and your services are for or about children. This domain extension is perfect for brands offering products and services related to children: clothes, media, and education are some sectors that could benefit from going one step further in their web presence with this new domain extension.
From August 11 (16:00 UTC) until September 14 (15:59 UTC), registering a .kids domain name will be restricted to owners of trademarks registered with TMCH.

Who can register a .kids domain name?
Anyone can register and use a .kids domain name. The target markets for .kids are, however, those who offer products, services, and infotainment for or about kids.
.kids is open to individuals, organizations, associations, and businesses that want to create web content for children and young people.
The registration rules for .kids stipulate that owners of .kids domains abstain from publishing illegal or inappropriate content (sexually explicit, violent, featuring use of tobacco, drugs, and alcohol, or other subjects generally considered inappropriate for children and adolescents), child labor, human trafficking, and child soldiers.
Registrants should also respect the privacy rights of children visiting their website or using their services. The .kids registry will implement a process for reporting and removing violating content and suspending .kids domain names that violate these guiding principles.
Gandi Corporate Services’ advice
There is a strong case for this new TLD’s use by companies whose business relates to children.
While anyone can register a .kids domain name, the risk of cybersquatting is moderate for .kids in line with the safeguards provided by the .kids guiding principles.
