The registry Uniregistry informed us that as of September 9, 2020 at 9:00 AM Pacific (16:00 UTC), they will be reducing the restoration period for domains they manage from 180 days down to 30 days.
30 days and not 180 to restore your domain
When the owner of a domain name doesn’t renew their domain name in the allotted time period, we remove it from our database.
However, for certain domains, it is still possible to recover the domain by restoring it at the registry, which they may do via our services. This is known as the “restoration” phase.
UniRegistry will be reducing the length of this phase from 180 days to 30 days as of September 9, 2020:
.tattoo, .sexy, .link, .guitars, .pics, .gift, .photo, .christmas, .blackfriday, .audio, .hiphop, .juegos, .click, .hosting, .property, .diet, .help, .flowers, .lol, .game, .mom
Starting September 9, 2020, the restoration period for domain names in each of these domains will be 30 days.
Special cases
This update will also apply to domain names that are already in the restoration period as of September 9, 2020.
Notably:
- If a domain name has been in the restoration period for more than 30 days on September 9, it will be automatically deleted
- If a domain name has been in the restoration period for less than 30 days on September 9, it will be automatically deleted 30 days after the date on which it entered the restoration period, contrary to the previous dates we communicated to you in our automatic renewal communication
