October 2 was the official opening of .fan!
It is now possible to register a .fan in the Sunrise phase, the new TLD registration phase reserved for those with trademarks registered with ICANN’s Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH). You can register a domain in this TLD from now until December 1, 2018. During this period, .fan domains can be registered by trademark holders for $158.48* for the first year.
If you’d like to register a .fan domain before it enters the GoLive period, for an additional price, between December 5 and December 12, 2018 you can register your domain in the Landrush phase. This phase consists of a “reverse auction” where the price reduces over the course of the phase. As such, domains purchased on December 5 will cost $10,140.00* and domains purchased on December 12 will cost $178.61*.
Finally, the GoLive date for .fan is December 12, 2018. At this point, .fan will cost $48.14* per year.
Don’t forget that it’s possible to submit your domain order to us in any phase before .fan enters the phase in question. That way, when .fan enters the release phase of your choice, we will send your registration request to the registry immediately and improve your chances of getting the domain, as we explained in a previous article.
