Gandi extends two-factor authentication (2FA)

Gandi will soon be extending the use of two-factor authentication by its users to access their account. It will  no longer be possible to log into a Gandi account with a single password.

The increase in cases of account piracy has encouraged Gandi’s teams to stop relying on a simple password to protect customer assets. This protection will therefore be reinforced by the definition of another authentication factor, for example a Time-based one-time password (TOTP) obtained by an application on the telephone or a security key to be connected to the computer.

Gandi offers its users several options, including a USB key, an application (available for free in stores) for smartphones or computers, or a code sent by email each time a connection is made. In the absence of activation by the user, this last option is used, as the user is asked to enter the code received in their mailbox each time they try to connect.

Users who have not yet activated two-factor authentication are invited to do so (the procedure to follow is described in the documentation). Gandi will progressively force users who have not done so to enter a code sent to their mailbox. Within a few weeks, it will no longer be possible to access your account without undergoing this second authentication.
