The eligibility rules for .com.tr, .net.tr, and .org.tr are changing, lifting registration restrictions for these domains. It’s no longer required to operate a business in Turkey in order to register one of these domain names. These new conditions will mean a greater risk for cybersquatting

The .au domain extension crosses the 4 million registered domains mark

The Australian ccTLD .au has for the first team reached 4 million registered domain names, thanks to its second-level domains rules, a spike no doubt influenced by last-minute requests for SLDs as part of the process of priority attribution. Unclaimed domains have been added to a pool released October 3, 2022, which may produce another spike.

The PIR registry begins launch of .giving

The first phase, Sunrise, will go from October 13 through December 13, 2022. The second, Landrush, will last from December 20 through January 20, 2023. But this domain will also have an unusual requirement—the requirement to use PIR as the technical operator for the domain name as well. Which makes sense in order to maintain the charitable intentions of the TLD.

Changes to terms and conditions for .eu

As of October 13, 2022 EURid is modifying its General Conditions to conform to the new .eu legal framework (Regulation 2019/517 of the European Parliament and Council of March 19, 2019 and its accompanying acts) and to make the new general conditions clearer and include the registration policy in the same document.
