To resolve this problem, the go-to solution for many users is to use the services of the US-based giant WeTransfer. Five cybersecurity best practices to protect your business

As more business is done online, the cybersecurity of businesses is at greater risk. According to IFOP, 33% of all small- and medium-sized businesses have been impacted by a cyberattack in the last 12 months. A worrying reality, but one that can be mitigated by implementing a few best practices.

List all the subdomains of a domain name? Challenge accepted!

One of the greatest values of a domain name is that you can create an infinite number of subdomains. But from a security standpoint, the longer that list of subdomains, the greater your potential exposure to cybersecurity risks. Hence the usefulness in having an exact inventory. But how do you get one?

The first release of the community Terraform Gandi provider is out!

The go-gandi community has published the provider Terraform Gandi (v2.0.0) on the Terraform registry. This provider enables you to declaratively manage multiple Gandi products, such as domain name, email, LiveDNS, and web hosting, an innovation following the launch of the GandiCloud VPS in March 2021, based on OpenStack technology.

The Log4j Bug Can’t Hurt WordPress – But There’s an Ongoing Attack That Can

As of December 10, more than 1.6 million WordPress sites have been under attack by cybercriminals exploiting a handful of vulnerabilities in certain plugins and themes. The irony is, the vast majority of the plugins and themes being exploited already have new versions avialable that patch the vulnerablities.

The Term Web3 Has Been Seized by the Crypto Market: An Internet Governance Perspective

Here’s another rejoinder in the ongoing debate over Web3. This one argues that the defining decentralized structure of the theoretical Web3 is inherently inefficient, making a blockchain-based web “more expensive, slower, and resource-intensive.”

If the underlying promise is to counter the centralization of tech monopolies like GAFAM, the author argues, this can be accomplished more simply with greater data portability and enforcement of privacy laws. Implicitly, that reduces the debate almost to an ideological level: are the problems of today’s centralized web best solved through greater monetization, making a market out of every online action, or through better regulation of the excesses of monopoly tech?

Google reveals ‘Topics’ cookie replacement, acknowledges FLoC was problematic

Google abandoned its controversial proposed FLoC cookie replacement in July and now favors a new plan. Called “Topics,” the new third-party cookie replacement anonymously tracks users. Here’s how it works: users’ browsers detect a user’s “areas of interest” when they visit sites with ads on them. Then, “Topics” will randomly select three of these to send to Google to determine future ad served.
