.FR now supports multiple years
Like the large majority of extensions, you can now register your .FR domains for up to 10 years if you wish.
Until recently, the maximum duration of a .FR registration was one year. It was therefore necessary to renew your domain before the anniversary date – which is no longer displayed in the whois, and is replaces with a more customary expiration date.
As with most extensions, the maximum duration can not exceed 10 years to the day. If you have a .FR domain that is currently active, you can therefore not add more than 9 years to it. For transfers, the operation will add one year to the domain’s expiration date rather than reinitialise it to the anniversary date.
Note that this important modification is also true for the other national extensions managed by Afnic: .RE, .YT, .WF, .TF, and .PM.
Nothing else changes with their operations.
