Test our new OpenStack based servers in Beta
On January 25, 2021, Gandi’s hosting team launched a new Cloud platform based on the OpenStack suite in Beta. And we’re looking for testers!
A new cornerstone for our Cloud solutions: OpenStack
The future Gandi Cloud platform is based on the OpenStack ecosystem. This is an open-source project that brings together large numbers of ‘bricks’ that let you deploy Cloud services, whether servers, storage units, or even containers.
Moving gradually towards this new foundation will enable us to sustain further development by joining the OpenStack community in addition to offering our users more new services and options.
We decided to concentrate at first on implementing a new virtual server solution (i.e. Cloud servers), that will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
Become a beta tester
In anticipation of a commercial launch in February 2021, the Gandi hosting team is looking for beta testers. From January 25 through February 15, 2021, we’ll be offering you the chance to test the interface and product features so that you can share your feedback with us.
Interfaces and features that you’ll be able to test
Two operating systems are already available: Ubuntu 20.04 and Debian 10. Other images will come soon.
- Creation/deletion/booting a server
- Access to the server via SSH
- Emergency console
How to participate
Want to become a beta tester for this platform? Contact us before February 1, 2021 at the address firstname.lastname@example.org.
N.B.: to be selected, you do not need to be a Gandi customer, but you will need an active Gandi account. Consider creating an account here at the same time as you apply: https://id.gandi.net/en/login.
Our goal: provide Cloud services suited to small and medium business with Gandi’s values
Today it’s difficult for businesses looking for alternatives to the big global players if you also want to be able to use standard server management technology. That’s the objective of Gandi’s new platform: offer our users a clear and transparent option that lets them deploy servers using their own tools, all while benefitting from the quality of Gandi’s customer service.
While you wait for the launch in February 2021, the beta version is available to test from January 26 through February 15, 2021. Just contact us at email@example.com.Tagged in Cloud
