Discontinuing SMS codes and new payment validation process for banks

On January 1, 2021, all banks agreed to a new payment validation process. Validation by SMS will no longer be used for online payments, customers will now use an app to validate.

SMS codes for validating payments discontinued

In order to strengthen the security of payment operations and access to accounts, banking establishments recently updated their payment validation process, as of January 1, 2021.

Validation by SMS (text message), used for strong validation of payment by credit or debit card, is being eliminated in favor of a solution individualized to each bank.

Essentially, each bank will have their own solution, belonging to them, and they will communicate to you the information that you’ll need.

Currently, the most commonly used method is strong authentication via a mobile app from your bank.
