1. Meet Gandi in Boston and Hong Kong!

If you don’t know it, INTA is the International Trademark Association, a non-profit advocacy group. Over the course of five days, participants network, attend committee meetings, and have plenty of professional development opportunities, all related to intellectual property and trademarks, a huge area for companies managing large domain name portfolios.

Our team will be presenting Gandi’s global domain name management and online brand protection services.

Gandi will also be present at Cloud Expo Asia Hong Kong from May 22 to May 23, 2019, where Gandi Asia will have a booth. Come visit us at booth number G32!

If you’re going to be in Boston or Hong Kong this month, stop on by!

2. Using IP restriction to secure your account

While IP addresses have long been considered “insecure” for authentication, when combined with other security measures, IP addresses can add another layer of security to your account. Just like an ATM card, a U2F key, a phone, and other factors that are “something you have,” an IP address can be stolen, so by itself, it’s not enough to keep your account safe. But you can combine it with your password or other factors to improve your account’s security.

Find out more in our article on using IP restriction to add security to your online accounts.

3. Mass manipulation and platform privacy

The seventh Agora du FIC took place on April 18, 2019 at The Maison de la Chimie in Paris. FIC is the Forum International de la Cybersécurité—the International Cybersecurity Forum—a cybersecurity conference that happens once a year, while the Agora happens in between. The theme of this Agora was “from influence to intervention: democracy in the face of cybersecurity threats,” and Gandi was in attendance.

4. Top 6 takeaways from Nord Conversion Day

Gandi was present for the latest edition of #NCD19 (Nord Conversion Day 2019), a day of conferences and exchanges between web professionals about user experience (UX) and the state of the art of e-commerce.

This edition, the fifth, took place in the EuraTechnologies park in Lille (two and a half hours North of Paris by car), where the research world, higher education, and new technologies come together.

Here are Gandi’s top six takeaways.

5. Gandi supports Reconnect’s Solidarity Cloud

Our “Gandi Supports” program is one of the pillars of our team’s identity. We’ve always attached ourselves to projects and organizations that offer an ethical alternative to mainstream options.

One of these supported projects is Reconnect, the cloud solidaire or solidarity cloud. This cloud storage platform provides data storage for the personal information of vulnerable people. We interviewed Reconnect’s Sofia Daouadji, product manager at Reconnect.
