Notice anything? No? Not even say … a new news site?

Well, we thought while we were working on reworking our site into #gandiv5, we’d also do a little something for our news. So, welcome to the new Gandi News! How do you like it?

Anyway, along with a new news site, this month we have a bunch of other new news to talk about. Like news on how our new site is coming along, a new extension of Rightside Registry’s DPML service, and news about moving hosting products to a new datacenter. We also have information on a price increase on .info domains, and as always, this month’s TLD release calendar and promo roundup. So read on for more.

New news is good news!

 1. The New Gandi News

We’re not trying to drown anyone in a flood of information that’s not relevant to them. When we present our news, we want to offer just what you need, and show it to you in an easy to browse format.

That’s the motivating intent behind the revamp of our news site you’re seeing now. But don’t take our word for it.

Discover the new Gandi News for yourself.

2. Where we’re at with #gandiv5

Of course it’s old new news that all year we’ve been slowly rolling out new features, functionalities, and geographical regions to our new #gandiv5 platform.

We took the first steps in January …

Now see how far we’ve come.

3. Rightside Registry extends DPML service

Rightside Registry is now extending its DPML service to better cover TMCH registrants. DPML, the Domain Protected Marks List, is actually a mechanism that helps people who own brand names protect this intellectual property online.

Find out what’s new with Rightside Registry’s service.

4. Moving to our new datacenter

Our new FR-SD3 datacenter boasts a new and improved infrastructure and as we say hello to our new datacenter, we’re saying goodbye to an old one: FR-SD2. We’re already beginning the process of moving hosting services over to the new datacenter. For now, we just have the rough outline of how that will work, with specifics to fill in as we get closer to the actual migration.

Get a handle on the basic outline.

5. Price Increase on .info domains

We have some bad news and some good news about .info domain names. First the bad news is that prices on .info domains are going up by 12% on all operations as of July 1, 2017 at midnight UTC (that’s June 30, 2017 at 5:00 PM PDT). This is a permanent price increase.

The good news is that if you don’t currently have a .info domain name and always wanted one, instead of paying that +12% price, from June 1 through December 31 you can get one for just $4.99 a year (it will be normal priced for subsequent years).

Get the details about the price increase.

6. TLD Release Calendar

As it turns out, June 2017 represents a new kind of month since we started covering TLD releases in a monthly calendar update: the combination of a slow point for TLD releases in the usual cycle of things plus the now just trickling stream of TLD releases makes June 2017 the first in a while with no new TLDs are scheduled to be released.

That said, keep an eye out for .africa which enters the GoLive phase on July 3 and .health which enters the Landrush phase on July 20 next month.

Follow new TLD releases.

7. Promo Roundup

And of course, here’s all the promos, all rounded up in one place for your convenience:
